The Stables is a traditional Dorset farmhouse rural retreat with a separate self-contained annex called Little Stables. Set in a quiet and peaceful location on a family run working farm. In the village of Spetisbury, 3 miles from Blandford Forum in the heart of the Dorset countryside. Close to the Jurassic coastline but within easy reach of Dorchester, Salisbury, Poole and Sherborne. If you are en-route to Devon & Cornwall, it’s a great midway stop, just 10 minutes off the A31, and close to Bournemouth Airport, Poole Harbour & Poole Railway Station.
Perfect for activity breaks or just relaxing in the picturesque Dorset countryside. Cycling, horse riding, swimming, shooting or hunting are available nearby, and we also have stabling for horses. A tennis court and bikes are available on request. Gorcombe Extreme Sports is only over the hill and offers paint-balling, quad-biking, assault courses, team building and clay shooting.
Little Stables has many personal touches for a homely feel. With a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, there is also a family bathroom and snug / kitchen area. We have two more beautifully decorated bedrooms available in the farm house next door if you are visiting as a larger group of up to 8. Little Stables can also be booked as a self catering holiday let.
Children and well behaved dogs are of course also very welcome.
Breakfast is served in the farmhouse kitchen or outside on the patio when the weather is kind or we can provide a breakfast hamper instead if you are staying in Little Stables. For other meals, we can recommend many excellent local pubs and restaurants in the local area. A BBQ is also available on request.
